For non-Latin character sets including Chinese, Japanese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, and Cyrillic, the engraving system supports the standard Unicode ranges and renders the characters using fonts calibrated for laser engraving at small dimensions. Practical legibility for non-Latin scripts at band-interior dimensions varies by character density, and we recommend keeping non-Latin engravings to four or five characters maximum to ensure readability over time.
Technical limits exist for emoji-style characters, complex multicolor symbols, and characters that depend on color rather than line for legibility. Laser engraving is monochromatic by definition, which means a heart symbol can be rendered but a colored heart cannot, and a Pikachu emoji cannot be reproduced regardless of how the customer attempts to specify it. Where customer requests fall outside the technical scope of laser engraving, we will say so directly rather than attempt a degraded rendering.
We do not engrave content that is offensive, defamatory, or appears to be intended to harass another person. This is a small fraction of requests, but it does happen, and we reserve the discretion to decline an engraving content request without offering a refund of any associated fees if the request falls into this category. The Customer Service team is the final arbiter of whether a specific content request meets this standard.
