Documented sourcing. Verified provenance. Honest about what we can prove.

Conflict-Free Guarantee

Every SinceLove piece comes with verifiable documentation, including Kimberley Process compliance for natural diamonds, IGI or GIA certification for every center stone, and refined recycled gold for all metal pieces. We are also applying for RJC and JVC membership. Below, we list what we can document now and what we cannot yet claim.

What We Can Prove, And How

The four practices below are the foundation of our sourcing position. Each one is documented at the order level, verifiable through third- party certification or international compliance schemes, and survives scrutiny under the Federal Trade Commission's Jewelry Industry Guides at 16 CFR Part 23.

Kimberley Process compliance

Every natural diamond we source travels with a Kimberley Process Certification Scheme certificate documenting its origin and confirming compliance with the international framework that prohibits trade in conflict diamonds. The certificate accompanies the diamond from rough to polished to finished piece.

IGI or GIA certification

Every center stone we set carries a certificate from the International Gemological Institute or the Gemological Institute of America. The certificate is independent of SinceLove and is verifiable through the issuing institute's online database using the report number. You can audit any of our stones without our involvement.

Refined recycled gold

All gold used across our pieces is refined recycled gold sourced through documented refining partners. The refining process restores recycled feedstock to verifiable purity, eliminating the reliance on newly mined gold. Refining is the operative word - raw recycled gold without refining can carry unverifiable origin and impurity issues.

RJC and JVC application status

We are currently in process of applying for membership with the Responsible Jewellery Council and the Jewelers Vigilance Committee. We do not claim current membership and will not do so until certification is granted. Application status is documented and available on request to any client who asks.

A laser inscription you can verify yourself

Every center stone we set carries a microscopic laser inscription at the girdle, etched by IGI or GIA at the time of grading. The inscription contains the certificate number, which you can enter into the issuing institute's online database to retrieve the full grading report independently of anything we tell you.

This is the architecture of verifiable provenance. Our claim about your diamond is only as good as the certificate we hand you, and the certificate is only as good as the laboratory that issued it. By using IGI and GIA - the two laboratories most widely accepted by the trade and by consumer review sites - we make verification a one-step process for any client who chooses to perform it.

From Origin To Your Hand, In Five Documented Stages

Every SinceLove piece passes through the same five-stage supply chain regardless of whether the center diamond is natural or lab- grown. Each stage produces documentation that ties the specific piece you receive back to specific verifiable inputs.

  1. Origin

Natural diamonds enter through Kimberley Process certified channels. Lab-grown diamonds are produced in controlled laboratory environments. Gold enters through refining partners.

    DOCUMENTED
  2. Verification

Every center stone receives an IGI or GIA grading report with laser inscription. Gold purity is verified by certificate. Documentation is bound to each order.

    VERIFIABLE
  3. Atelier

Design, CAD rendering, casting, setting, polishing - all performed by our team at the Shuibei atelier in Shenzhen. No outsourcing of bench work.

    IN-HOUSE
  4. Quality Control

A thirty-four-item QC checklist covering prong symmetry, polish, hallmark stamping, weight tolerance, and stone security. The pink certificate stamp authorizes shipment.

    INSPECTED
  5. Delivery

Insured, signature-required shipping with full chain of custody. The package arrives sealed, with all certificates accompanying the piece. Provenance closes only when you sign.

The boundary between substantiation and marketing

The Federal Trade Commission's Green Guides at 16 CFR Part 260 require that environmental and ethical claims be backed by competent and reliable evidence. The same standard applies to terms like "conflict-free," "sustainable," and "ethical." Below are the claims we make, the claims we will not make, and the reasoning for each. Most luxury brands hide what they cannot substantiate. We list it openly because that openness is the only way the documented claims retain their meaning.

We will sayKimberley Process compliant

Natural diamond supply chains are documented under the Kimberley Process framework. Supporting sourcing records can be linked to the order.

We will not say“Conflict-free” without qualification

The Kimberley Process has a defined scope. It does not verify every ethical or environmental condition throughout a diamond’s history.

We will sayRefined recycled gold

Recycled feedstock is refined to a documented purity by our metal partners. The qualifier describes both origin and process.

We will not say“100% sustainable” or “eco-friendly”

Jewelry production has environmental impacts. A broad, absolute environmental claim would exceed what our documentation can support.

We will sayLab-grown diamond

Origin is disclosed clearly. Independent grading reports identify the stone as laboratory-grown.

We will not say“Real”, “cultured”, or “synthetic” diamond

We use clear origin descriptions rather than terminology that could confuse a customer about whether a diamond is mined or laboratory-grown.

We will sayIn process of applying for RJC and JVC

Applications are in progress. Current application status is available on request.

We will not say“RJC certified” or “JVC member”

We are not currently RJC certified or JVC members. An application is not certification or membership.

The word “guarantee” applies only to what we can document

The page title uses "Conflict-Free Guarantee" because that is the recognized industry phrasing for the documented practices we follow. Under the framing established by the Federal Trade Commission, our guarantee covers exactly what is documented - Kimberley Process compliance, IGI or GIA certification, refined recycled gold, and our application status with RJC and JVC. The guarantee does not extend to claims we cannot substantiate, and we will not retroactively expand it to cover marketing language the documentation does not support.

Documentation at every stage, not branding at the surface

Ethical sourcing in fine jewelry is not a marketing position; it is a documentation discipline. The difference between a brand that says it sources ethically and one that does is not in the language used on the website but in the paperwork attached to each order. Every SinceLove order ships with the documentation listed below, which together establish the chain of provenance from origin to your hand.

For natural diamonds, the documentation includes the Kimberley Process certificate at the rough stage, the cutting house provenance record at the polishing stage, the IGI or GIA grading report with laser inscription, and our internal order file linking the certificate number to your specific order. Any one of these documents can be independently verified through the issuing authority without our involvement.

For lab-grown diamonds, the supply chain documentation is structurally simpler because the origin is by definition non-conflict — the stones are produced in laboratory environments, not extracted from the earth. The IGI or GIA certificate confirms that the stone is lab-grown rather than natural and provides the same grading data (cut, color, clarity, carat) you would expect from a natural diamond report. The laser inscription identifies the stone as lab-grown and the certificate number is verifiable in the issuing institute's database.

For gold, the refining partner provides documentation at the ingot level certifying the recycled feedstock and the refining process used to restore purity. Each SinceLove piece is hallmarked with the metal purity (14k, 18k, etc.) and the hallmark stamp is verifiable. The refining documentation is order-linked through our internal records and is available on request.

Why we say “refined” and not just “recycled”

Recycled gold without refining is not the same product as refined recycled gold. Raw recycled gold can carry unverifiable origin, residual contaminants from previous applications, and inconsistent purity that produces fabrication defects at the bench level. The refining process restores recycled feedstock to documented purity and produces ingots with verifiable composition. Many brands describe their gold simply as "recycled" because the qualifier sounds environmentally responsible. The qualifier we use is more accurate and more meaningful. The gold in your SinceLove piece is recycled in origin and refined in process, with both stages documented through our refining partners.

How We Verify Every Claim Before It Leaves The Atelier

The verification process below applies to every order regardless of its value. It is built into the order workflow, not run as a separate audit. Each step produces documentation that joins the order file before the QC team authorizes shipment.

01 · Origin documentation arrives

For natural diamonds, the Kimberley Process certificate is verified against the rough source. For lab-grown stones, the production lot documentation is verified against the laboratory's records. For gold, the refining certificate accompanies the ingot at receipt.

02 · Independent grading is obtained

The center stone is sent to IGI or GIA for grading and laser inscription. The grading report is independent and verifiable through the institute's online database. The laser inscription number on the stone matches the report number.

03 · Order file binds documentation

Our internal order file binds the certificate number, the refining documentation, the QC checklist, and the customer order into a single record. This is the audit trail that allows us to verify any claim about your specific piece, on request, at any time.

04 · Shipment includes the paperwork

The IGI or GIA certificate ships with the piece. The Kimberley Process documentation is available on request for natural diamond orders. The hallmark on the piece itself documents the metal purity. Refining documentation is available on request.

Why this page is structured the way it is

Most luxury jewelry brands position ethical sourcing as a marketing claim and leave the documentation invisible. The structural problem with that approach is that it does not survive scrutiny. A reader who actually checks the documentation finds the gap between the claim and the substantiation, and the gap erodes trust in everything else the brand says.

We have structured this page to do the opposite. The four documented practices come first, in plain language. The supply chain is shown stage by stage with the documentation produced at each stage. The disclosure matrix lists what we will say and what we will not say, with the reasoning for each. The verification process is described at the operational level. The result is a page that connects each claim to its supporting records.

If you have a specific question about the sourcing of a piece you are considering, or about a piece you already own, email info@sincelovejewelry.com with your order number. We will respond with the order-level documentation within one business day. The documentation is available because the documentation is the foundation. The marketing language on this page is downstream of the documentation, not the other way around.

The legal substance

The sourcing commitments described above are subject to the Federal Trade Commission's Jewelry Industry Guides at 16 CFR Part 23 and the Green Guides at 16 CFR Part 260, which establish the substantiation standards for ethical and environmental claims in the United States. The Kimberley Process Certification Scheme is an international compliance framework, not a comprehensive guarantee of ethical conditions at every stage of the diamond supply chain; we describe the practice accurately rather than overstating its scope. Membership status with the Responsible Jewellery Council and the Jewelers Vigilance Committee is currently in process and not yet granted.
